As we near the end of the Old Testament you will recognize some of the unifying elements of the Bible. There’s the “4 Rs” . . . “the re- words” . . . and the patterns of Creation and New Creation, Exodus and Second Exodus, covenant and new covenant. We’ve also noticed two distinct story lines that have emerged in a lot of historical narrative. In this lesson we’ll be able to recognize those storylines again and begin appreciating how these also help us anticipate the New Testament.

So let’s enjoy this overview as we enter the post-exilic world of Esther, Ezra and Nehemiah.
