I learned that prayer is a powerful action, an exciting adventure, and the greatest privilege of our lives. That God invited us to foster a deep relationship with Him through prayer. That prayer is not a super-spiritual skill or elite spiritual gift, but is meant for everyone. That if we neglect prayer, we forfeit the possibility of genuine blessings. That we ought to pray proactively, as a “first resort.” And that even throughout much unanswered prayer, God is doing a wonderful work within us. Lastly, I really loved the final line in William Cowper’s poem: “Restraining prayer, we cease to fight; prayer makes the Christian’s armor bright; and Satan trembles when he sees the weakest saint upon his knees!”

Even though I am new at praying everyday I need to do it. It is the greatest privilege to do every day. I also need to make it my first resort not my last. And I feel without prayer I will fall away from God very fast and far.

That God wants to form a personal relationship with us through prayer. He is always ready to bend down and hear us.

Just a wonderful reminder that God wants us to delight in Him, see His goodness, and trust in the good things He has for us when we pray.
