The importance of prayer is to develop our spiritual self. We cannot succeed in Christ unless we have made an attempt to spiritual connect with God’s good grace and Holy Spirit. (1Timothy 2:1-8)

I learned or re-learned the importance of seeking God and His strength. Meditating on His word and remembering what He has done for me in the past and using those same thoughts to help me believe what He is capable of in the future.

The reference to Isiah 36 and 37 was thought provoking. I should admit that I have a lot of confusion on prayer and one of the reasons for taking this specific course is to develop stronger foundations of understanding. I oftentimes feel confused about the purpose of prayer; Especially when I think of God’s sovereignty, I find myself confused of what is achieved in prayer if God has an established plan. Do my prayers have impact, or is it just an act of obedience?

Isiah 36 and 37 makes it clear (and in short order) that King Hezekiah’s prayer made a difference; That is both exciting and a little more dumbfounding to me. I feel that the lesson made the point that prayer is a lot of times not really about action but about just coming to the Lord and being in His presence. This is a good reminder too.

I didn’t know sometimes just the action of coming to God in prayer is enough. It is important to give him our worries.

God always wants to hear from us and it does not matter how big or small the time might be He desires to have a relationship with us.
