I learned prayer is the Vehicle I should use to drive through life. It’s like gas to a car, without it I get nowhere. I get nowhere because I am not in constant communication with our Father Elohim. So, how would I know where, what and how without His instruction? I would truly fail without His Guiding Light!!

I’ve learned that the importance of prayer is that God wants to listen to me when I pray. When I stop to pray-because the concerns in my heart are overwhelming- God leans down to listen to me. He can hear the fear in my voice, see the tear stains and reassure me that He understands my feelings. Because of this interest in me, I want others to know how much He loves and cares for us all…I want to tell others, so much so that I promise to do so.

Prayer is powerful. Too often, I am guilty of listing off a checklist of the people and situations that need prayer. But that’s not what this Psalm is teaching us, it’s cultivating a relationship, it’s not just a “Lord, please do this and this and help this and this person”, it’s listening, waiting and anticipating to see what God will do – it’s relational!

How wonderful that He wants us to talk with Him – the God of the Universe wants a relationship with us!!

Even though life can be difficult and bring about painful moments, we are precious in the eyes of God and He inclines His ear to us, the lowly. He is gracious, righteous, and merciful and bows down to listen when we call upon Him and are thankful to Him. He is our eternal Father!

I learned once again that our Father, our GOD always listens and hears even the faintest and unsophisticated prayer because He takes the time to bend down from His throne of mercy to hear and respond with His grace in my time of any need at all. Thanks be unto GOD my Strong Tower
