Edwards believed that a person who is truly converted with have reveal it in a change of lifestyle. In other words the true convert will strive to be more like Christ in his daily living and the “fruit” will be without refutation, others will be able to see it and know as will the convert.

Jonathan Edwards believed that the Lord’s Supper should be restricted to those solidly in the Body, those who had Christ as their savior.
Stoddard believed that it should be available to anyone and every one with the hope that someone might be saved through experiencing it.

Contrary to the doctrine of “converting ordinance” of the Lord’s Supper which was held by his grandfather, Solomon Stoddard, Edwards believed that the Lord’s Supper should be open only to those who professed and gave evidence of true conversion, or at minimum, a profession of conversion

Edwards held a few different beliefs than Calvin. Such as continuous creation, and he tried to explain original sin, and wrote a guide on book of Revelation

Edwards was a definite post-millennial believer somewhat in opposition to the amillennialism of many or most Calvinists.
Edwards tried to explain in depth the theology of original sin which was considered beyond human thinking by Calvin and others.
