Wrap-Up

We realize that many of you don’t like the sight of blood. You’re happy to see your meat nicely wrapped at the butcher shop. But blood was obviously central to God’s ritual system, and we need to take it seriously. Blood is about life and death, and God offered up a real, living-and-dying substitute for us when Christ was on the cross. I hope something deep within you is stirred when you sing a song about the blood, when you take communion, when you celebrate Easter. This lesson is all about the Gospel and how every generation is invited into a sacred meal that looks back to a moment of liberation and looks ahead to an eternal banquet with the Lamb who now reigns on His heavenly throne.
