Hebrews is one of the most challenging books in the New Testament. Many of its topics and themes are difficult to understand, and it tends to approach them differently than other New Testament books do. But it helps when we recognize that the original audience was facing persecution and that they were tempted to turn away from Christ. That’s why the author of Hebrews placed his emphasis on standing strong in the faith, and it’s why this book is one of the most valuable and encouraging to Christians in every age.

At times a bit technical, but super interesting. It added a depth to my understanding of what the book is about.

An overview of the book of Hebrews like the one covered in this course is a good preparation for understanding the basis of our faith in Christ as the royal supreme priest superior to both the Levitical priesthood, Moses, and the order of Melchizedek, because His sacrifice was not only superior to those of animals but provided the final forgiveness of sin, to anyone who believes and receives Him as Savior and Lord.

I love learning new things. I learned a lot of new information about the Book of Hebrews that I had never heard before. The influence of the Dead Sea scrolls, the persecution coming from fellow believers and even the fact that todays theologians do not believe that Paul was the author of Hebrews. Of course all of this is commentary, but it has helped me to gain a better understanding of Hebrews. Excellent study.
