Lesson Overview
In this lesson, Dr. Ron Welch shares a different way of looking at conflict with your spouse; why you can have hope for transformation in your marriage; and why spouses must look to the future and let go of the past.
Lesson Objectives
When you complete this lesson, you should be able to:
- Articulate why we have reason to hope for transformation in our marriages.
- Explain why it is important for each spouse to know his/her “warning signs” and those of his/her spouse.
- Describe what it means to let go of the past and why it is important to do so.
- Explain what each spouse should focus on when engaged in a conflict.
Personal Reflection
As you proceed through this lesson have the following question in mind.
Make time with your spouse to complete the “warning signs” exercise described in this lesson. What was challenging? What did you learn about yourself and about your spouse? Reflect on the experience here.
