She is saying that our lessons and plans need to begin and end with God’s Word. Everything we teach needs to be compared to God’s Word to see if it matches what God’s Word says or if it says something different. Those are opportunities for discussion in class and activities to discover the similarities and differences all while pointing students back to God’s Word through every lesson we teach.
-
God’s Word should always surround whatever we are reading, planning, teaching.
-
In Dr. Black’s visual, she is demonstrating the importance of needing to be centered on the Bible in everything that we do and teach.
-
I see this as we are to make God’s word the most important part of our lessons. We need to start and end with his words in mind.

Prayer and being assured by the Scriptures has helped me build a growth mindset. I’m a slow learner so whatever task I am going to do, I’m aware that it will take a decent amount of time for me to learn. Knowing that this is part of me and uniqueness gifted from God has allowed me to accept personal challenges and appreciate opportunities to grow.

I am being gentle with myself when I find myself struggling spiritually or making mistakes when learning something new, or having an awkward social interaction. I am learning and developing and I can grow to be the person I want to be.
-
I always make sure that I am self-reflecting and continuing to learn. I want to reflect each day to see what I can do better or change to reach the students better. Sometimes I even have the students fill out a survey with things they think we should do differently etc. I also always make sure that I am continuing to learn. If there is something I am unsure about I make sure to research it so next time I am better equipped to answer the question or address the situation.
-
Some techniques I am currently using are reading more books and blogs, listening to podcasts on my way to work, and having a closer relationship with the Lord in order to grown in every aspect.

Continuous learning. Taking courses that will help to strengthen and challenge me not only academically, but also Biblically. I also have a stack of books on my desk at home… books that will educate me, in my “free time” on being a more intentional Christian school teacher.

I hope to gain a better understanding of Biblical Integration and learn ways to more actively integrate the Bible in my lessons.
-
I hope to better understand the way that this course presents and instructs biblical integration for its participants. I’m interested in seeing how it compares to David Smith’s work or Roger Erdvig’s work on the parallel, if not similar, topic.

My job as the Learning Support teacher can be very focused on helping students reach goals and looking for progress toward those goals. It can be hard to find ways to integrate the Bible into phonics instruction or a structured study hall. I hope to learn some ways to do this.
-
I hope to gain some practical ways to help students recognize how the content of the Bible relates to our curriculum and current worldwide events.
-
I hope to gain additional perspective, incentive, and desire to continue to share my Lord and Savior with those I meet and come in contact with. I believe God provides divine appointments for us and what we do with that will attest to our relationship with Him. My schooling has me finishing my degree to work with students in grades K-9, as well as special education K-12, but I am also looking to start a college and career Bible study in my home for my adult son and some of his friends who feel that many of the opportunities they have attended are more focused on social gatherings than on learning and applying the Word. I love to talk about what God has done, what He is doing, and what I hope to see Him do in myself and others. I expect to gain a greater understanding of how to integrate His Word into all that I teach, say, and do.
