She is illustrating the need for and importance of integrating the Bible in to all of our teaching.
-
The illustration depicts that all things (curriculums, Lesson plans, calendars) in education are Biblically based on some scope. Whether History, Science, Math, Art or Music, God is in it all. There is nothing outside of that scope where He isn’t the basic for the principals and ideologies taught.

Dr. Black’s visual of a book placed between two Bibles likely illustrates the concept of intertextuality or comparative analysis in literary studies. By positioning a book in the middle of two Bibles, she could be emphasizing the idea of examining a text in relation to other texts, particularly religious or canonical works like the Bible. This visual representation suggests the importance of contextualizing and analyzing a text within the broader framework of literature and culture, exploring how it interacts with and responds to existing literary traditions and religious texts. It highlights the interconnectedness and dialogue between different works of literature, encouraging readers to consider how meanings and interpretations can be enriched through comparative study.

Everything we do and say should begin and end with God and His truths and promises that are given to us in the Bible.
-
This is an illustration of working the textbook into the biblical worldview, that the textbook should be centered around this biblical worldview. The biblical integration should be interwoven through the textbook work.

Devotions and notes in my Bible keep me accountable but also are an amazing reminder of where I have been and what God has done in my life.
-
I read a lot, but I have also gotten into listening to a number of Christian podcasts to keep up on the current events from a Christian perspective. I choose to spend time each week with people of differing ages, backgrounds and beliefs to learn to listen and try to see things from their viewpoint.

I have pursued now 4 separate degrees as I love learning and growing

I often use teacher collaboration to increase my engagment with best practices. When other teachers; new and tenured, come along side me (and me with them), I stretch my understanding of classroom strategies I have used a long time or embrace new strategies that I see other teachers using and embracing. There is nothing like real-time feedback with other teachers.

I intentionally make time to take care of the distractions in my life. It’s been a rough couple of years personally. Not being distracted by the other parts of life gives me time to reflect and grow. I also tackle student challenges as a time for self-growth. When students struggle to grasp a concept, I learn every possible way I can to reteach the concepts. I have had many opportunities to learn more and more strategies over the last few years. This allows my toolbox to become fuller and my growth as a teacher to become more whole.

I hope like the last course to be exposed to new ideas or be reminded of ways I have lost focus. Sometimes we need to be reminded of what we know as encouragement that it is important.
-
I hope to gain resources and ideas to help my junior high and high school teachers. I would love to know how others integrate Bible.
-
I’d like to gain fresh ideas on how to increase biblical integration into my lessons.

I hope to learn creative ways to integrate God’s Word into every lesson that I teach.
