Describe your image of a criminal. What do you think has influenced your thinking? Has it changed over time?

Early on I saw minorities as more like to be criminals. My influences made it clear that bigotry and poverty was “no excuse” for criminal behavior. While I still believe this to be true, I now see more clearly the balance of “seeking Justice” while “Loving mercy” (Micah 6:8)

Because I was formerly incarcerated, my image of a criminal has changed alot. Prior to my incarceration, I thought the typical criminal was mostly black, low income, and basically just a typical loser who I would never associate with. That all changed when I got locked up. Over the years of my incarceration, I have see and made friends with a lot of good christian brothers in the prison system. So yes my way of thinking has changed alot over the years.
