It is helpful to understand from what perspective a person views God, salvation and how creation came to be, as well as what sacred scriptures one believes in or how one may view the scriptures of the bible. This helps to find a common base on which we can start a conversation and as the Holy Spirit leads us, introduce people to Jesus.

If you have knowledge of other religions, it can help define what you believe in and how that is the same and different from another religion. It can also help you in supporting your own argument when confronted by someone else who has questioned what you believe in light of their own religion.

Religious faith is a personal belief in a higher power that holds to particular expectations and a standard of conducting oneself in accordance with the belief. This faith is a two-way communication that involves prayer, study, and rules/regulations/laws to adhere to as a means of “pleasing” or drawing closer to the higher authority.
