I’m leading the board of directors at my church, and I am collaborative and will listen to my team for input. I need to work better on taking the ideas and information to make timely decisions to move forward.

I teach LEADERSHIP skills to church leaders in remote villages in Myanmar and Thailand. This first lecture has given me quite a lot to think about…. i need to simplify a lot of it to be suitable, but the principles are the roots for me to build around. I have enjoyed challenging myself while listening, and I’m sure my modified version will be helpful to those i work with.

I share with my church stuff I need to work on in my own life and I speak up in church about what people around the world should be witnesses to and also what I should be witnessing about.

There is definitely a gap from where I am and where I want to be, although I can also see a bigger gap from where I am and where I was. I believe I fit the role that I am in, and as I transition somewhat in one of my roles, I see the growth happening. I ask for feedback every year from all levels of people I work with, this year I had a mix of positive and negative, and I am making sure I improve in those negative areas. I have noticed that many are having similar struggles with negativity in the field I am in. I believe I am heading in a positive directions when it comes to my leadership position.

I definitely can say that there is a big gap between where I am at versus were I want to be. The fit part, is where the confusion is. There is a lack of a age demographic in our church and my wife and I see the need and would be a great fit to start a ministry addressing the age demographic but we do not feel the church we are currently attending is the place to birth the ministry. Parallel to other small churches, we are even struggling in many areas and my gut is telling me that I am to go into new season with God and ministry but too afraid to move from the comfort zone we are in because we have been apart of our church for 18 years.
