I did not know that Matthew’s gospel stressed Jesus’ teachings more than any of the others.

I learned that “Jesus never quotes an earlier rabbi” and that is part of how he taught with authority, not as the other teachers.

I have greater understanding of the framework that Matthew set up in the Beatitudes.

I leaned that the book of Matthew has 5 major blocks of sermons that are compared to the 5 books of Moses (books of the law) and that Jesus is called the, “new Moses,” or is seen as one who is greater than Moses.

I know now that the book of Matthew highlighted more on Jesus ethical words
