In this lesson we’ll find our way back into Paul’s various imprisonments. Remember: this is Paul the Roman citizen, who was often suffering unjustly. We’ll visit a first century jail in Philippi that he might have stayed in during his ministry there. For Paul, being in jail provided time to reflect on what was most important. And the main theme for this lesson is “suffering and community.” Let’s find out what Paul’s fellow workers and his congregations meant to him, especially while he suffered in prison.
