One of the best ways to recognize Peter’s transformation is in the difference between some of his behavior in the Gospels and his teachings in the letters he wrote later in his life. In your workbook, insert in the third column a common theme shared by the pair of passages from the Gospels and 1 Peter.

Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:28-31 NASB)	… so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
