Psalms has always been a beautiful book to read. It is honest and deep. Sometimes there are parts that can be hard to understand but the verses pull us in and make us want to see the full picture so we dive deeper to understand better.

My view of Psalms was that it seemed very difficult to understand. I am taking this course to help me read God’s word.

Psalms is a place I can go to read of God’s glory, mercy, forgiveness, worship and praise. There is a psalm for every life circumstance, and I find comfort, guidance and instructions in them.

I had never thought of how the study of the metaphors in Psalms can help us understand how we use metaphors in modern times to describe and discuss complex problems. Another new insight was the mention of word combinations and how they can have much more meaning than just the sum of the two words’ meanings.
