The dispositions that shape our approach to the Bible can create attachments to favorite passages, but they can also make us prejudiced toward other parts of the Bible story. Ideas or scenes that don’t reinforce what we think we already know are likely to be marginalized or skipped in our reading. For example, many of us don’t know what to do with the laws of the Old Testament. Let’s consider what the implications of that might be.
