So the first “context” we look at when studying the Bible is our own. Some healthy self-awareness will help us avoid some blind spots and pitfalls along the way. Now it’s time to look at the contexts of the biblical writers and the worlds about which they wrote: geography, history, culture, religion. As self-awareness keeps us in touch with our world, this biblical awareness is going to keep us in touch with the world of the Bible as well as the world that the Bible has shaped.
