Adam and Eve have been cast out of Eden (Gen 3:23). It’s important to pay careful attention to what happens to the generations that follow after Adam and Eve. The storyline follows the bloodline very closely.

  1. Starting with Adam, make a list of the seven descendants in Cain’s line (Gen 4), and then make a list of the ten descendants in Seth’s line (Gen 5).

Based on your lists of the family lines of Cain and Seth, respond to the following questions:

  1. Which notable characters are in the 7th generation in each line (counting Adam as the first generation)?
  1. What notable character is in the 10th generation in the faithful line?
  1. Review the life spans of the two family lines. What do you notice? Why do you think this is important?
