Wrap-Up

We’re still getting some big-picture orientation to these fascinating prophets and to messages that were sometimes severe and sometimes sublime. For those of us called into ministry, the prophets have a lot to teach us about all that God wants to do—not just through us, but also in us. That was something we were learning with Elijah and Elisha, and we’re going to see it a lot in the writing prophets.

Now that we have our timeline in place, we’re going to go in order. We’ve already gotten acquainted a bit with Amos—one of the non-professional prophets. Let’s spend the next lesson watching how God called him and try to imagine how his message was received in Israel.
