One of the most recognizable pieces of classical music is George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Messiah, which centers on connections between Isaiah’s prophecy and the coming of Jesus in the New Testament. The best-known part of this composition is the “Hallelujah Chorus” at the end of the second part. This work, composed in 1741 and premiered in the following year, still resonates today due to its quality and the eternal significance of its subject matter.
