Even with stern rebuke, Haggai offers a lot of hope to God’s people. Especially by looking to Zerubbabel and Joshua—one has provided hope in the civil government and the other in the ritual sphere. God’s Spirit stirs them and the entire remnant to do God’s work. 

This is a good lesson to consider our priorities.
