In the scale of environment and style of communication, the Lord hears and understands all these listed forms of communication, but what makes them different is the feeling or the, “tug” of the Lord you feel in that moment.
For example, you conduct the, “Romans Road” study and you feel deeply intrigued about the study and when you close in prayer you feel the presence of the Lord upon you.
Lets establish something, if you’re looking for goosebumps go take a cold shower because you need to seek the wisdom of the Lord and give the glory even when you don’t feel it. I hear from the those I work with, “I come to church and I feel; When I pray I feel; When I hear that song I feel”, the list goes on. This is not a bad thing, however when I hear this it’s followed with disappearing two or three weeks and that was the last time they performed any devotion to the Lord and they’ll usually tell me, ” I feel so distant/ disconnected”.

God speaks to us through the word, the church, other people, circumstances, the Holy Spirit, dreams and visions.

If you want to hear God speak, read the Bible…if you want to hear Him speak audibly, read the Bible out loud…prayer also needs to be done spending more time listening for the Holy Spirit to speak to us, than us giving Him a laundry list of our wants and desires.

Bible study is a form of spiritual communication in that it is what God has spoken and is still speaking to us. Fellowship is a form of spiritual communication in that God can use other believers to speak to each other and to others. Prayer is a form of spiritual communication in that it is the way we can talk to God.

Bible study, fellowship, and prayer are all different forms of spiritual communication because they each involve connection with God, others, and the body of Christ for the purpose of spiritual growth. Through Bible study, God speaks to us. Through prayer, we speak to God. Through fellowship, God often works through others to encourage, sharpen, and strengthen us in our faith.
