Explain how Bible study, fellowship, and prayer can be called different forms of spiritual communication.

They are all different forms, to help us in spiritual different ways. Sometimes we need a very personal intimate time of prayer and meditation. Sometimes we need the concrete black and white words on a page to hold on to a truth. And sometimes we need the benefit of fellowship with others while growing together.

Bible study, fellowship, and prayer are different forms of spiritual communication to help us gain knowledge, understanding, and acceptance in our relationship with our Heavenly Father.

The Bible is God’s word to us. Fellowship is communication with other believers (like a family gathering). And prayer is our talking to God. All forms work best when the Holy Spirit is involved.

Bible study reveals who God is, what His purpose is for us as followers, and to develop a deeper understanding of His nature. Fellowship allows us to engage, grow, encourage, keep accountable, support, nurture, comfort, and challenge others in our faith walks. Prayer is our direct access to communicating with the Father. We learn to listen and to speak with Him. Spending time in prayer allows us to become more in tune with the daily directions the Spirit is leading.

God speaks through all of them. When I study the Bible I grow in my understanding and love for the Lord. God often speaks into my life through my family and friends in Christ. Then when I am deeply connected in prayer, I can sense the leadings of the Lord. All three work separate yet together to confirm what God is doing in our lives.
