God expects us to pray; wants us to pray because He wants a relationship-a back & forth-with us. He listens and He speaks to us in groups and individually. When we engage with God in prayer, He shares himself and reveals deep treasures for the soul. In prayer we have opportunities to praise the Holy Trinity; to give thanks; to confess-coming to agreement with God about our sins; to intercede for others; to seek help for ourselves. Wow…so basically, the God of the everything that ever was and is and ever will be wants to hang out with me.

God wants us to pray and seek Him in all that we do. Jesus modeled prayer for us. We pray with faith

God can change circumstances if we earnestly seek Him. He wants us to come boldly to His throne where we can find mercy and grace. Talking to God as our Heavenly Father brings us closer to Him in a relationship. As our Father, He listens carefully to our prayers.

I learned that prayer brings God to action. While he may know what’s in my heart he will respond if I ask directly, just like he did for King Hezekiah.

Prayer is not just about us going to God but also about God bending down to meet us.
