I bet you didn’t think we’d end this lesson with singing martyrs! Hopefully, you caught the common theme in this book—that God is singing over his people, even in exile, and they can rejoice in his love for them. You have to admit that, in spite of all the judgment in the prophets, we keep getting surprised by how much God loves his people. He’s always coming back for them. He’s so intent on restoring them back into a relationship that will be better than ever.

Well, the next book may surprise you with its audacity. The prophet Habakkuk is about to challenge God with some pointed questions. And the answers he gets are definitely not what he expects!
