Living during a superpower transition posed a life and death challenge to everyone in Judah. When a prophet tells you that “the locusts are coming,” you’ve got to wonder where you can hide—and whom you might trust. Trusting any of the military giants of the day turned out to be a really bad idea. But trusting God meant eventually submitting to Babylon. 

You have to ask yourself what kinds of decisions we make in crisis—when the pressure is on and anxiety runs high. 

In the next lesson we’ll step back for a big-picture view of prophecy and how we should interpret it.
