Overview and Objectives

Lesson Overview

Once you begin to see the value of reading your Bible geographically, you will want to grow your geographical literacy. In this session, we will present three advanced steps you can take to improve your geographical understanding of Bible lands.

Lesson Objectives

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • See the importance of developing a mental map that is closer to the one the biblical authors used when they wrote.
  • Understand how places have the ability to deliver rhetorical energy because they carry connotations.
  • Understand the importance of organizing the Bible geographically to see the relationships between portions of the Bible that are linked to one another by location.
