Romans

If you had to choose one of Paul’s letters as the summary of his theology, which book would you choose? Probably Romans. The early church saw Romans as the most significant letter Paul wrote because of its rich theological content. Augustine, Luther and Wesley were all born again while reading Romans. Luther called it, “the absolute epitome of the gospel.” So we’ll start in this module with an overview of Romans theology.

But is it possible that we have forgotten Romans the letter in the process of studying it as theology? We will dig into the occasional nature of what Paul wrote to balance our understanding of this amazing book. And getting at the contextual nature of the message will only deepen our understanding of its universal appeal.
