A common response to the book of Revelation is, “It’s just too hard for me to understand!” In this lesson, Dr. Mathewson will demonstrate that Revelation was meant to be understood and will provide additional clarity around the book’s form and purpose. Finally, he will provide suggestions you can use to help you better understand the wealth of teaching available in the book of Revelation.

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Explain the importance of understanding the apocalyptic nature of the book of Revelation.
  • Discuss the importance of Revelation 2 and 3 in relationship to understanding the rest of the book.
  • Explain how we can know the book was meant to be understood by its readers.
  • Identify specific strategies to help you better understand the book of Revelation.
