Overview and Objectives

Lesson Overview

In Lesson Two we discover how the gospel books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John fit together. We will discuss a simple overview of these first four New Testament books and examine spiritual insights that guide us as we follow Jesus in our daily walk.

Lesson Objectives

When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:

  • Define “gospel” in your own words.
  • Name the four gospels.
  • Explain why the four gospels are different from each other.
  • Explain how Jesus was emphasized in each gospel.
Personal Reflection

As you proceed through this lesson have the following question in mind.
In this lesson, we learned about the four Gospels that record the life of Jesus Christ. What was the benefit of having four different authors write on this subject?
