Do you read much poetry? In the US, interest in poetry is in such steep decline that some say it’s almost extinct. But the poetry of Psalms is an essential part of the Old Testament. Is there a chance we could use some help knowing how to appreciate it more? I certainly think so!

In this introductory lesson we’ll look at figurative language and how poetry uses images and analogies to spark the imagination. You may be surprised to see that poetry grows out of normal ways of speaking and writing. And biblical poetry is God’s inspired vehicle, designed to capture our hearts and minds—to give us words when we may not have them.
