Leadership is a person who has an ability designed/given by God to lead others.

I wanted to take a moment to share my understanding and definition of leadership.

In my perspective, a leader is someone who takes on the responsibility of guiding and directing others, whether it be in a church, an organization, or a group. This individual is often seen as a pastor, manager, boss, or the designated leader of a particular group.

To me, being a leader means having the ability to influence and motivate people to follow a set of rules or instructions. It involves effectively communicating expectations and ensuring that they are understood and adhered to by those under their leadership.

My understanding and definition of leadership is tied to how Jesus defined leadership. It is in serving one another and not lording over those whom we serve. Leadership, in it’s ideal state, is to serve others in love. Leadership also requires a backbone. It is the ability to make difficult decisions that may not be popular, but are right, as defined by scripture and what the Lord tells us to do. Therefore true leadership is a mixture of heart full of compassion, but encompassed by biblical boundaries and principles. In short, it can be viewed as a mixture of “sweet and sour” sauce!

Leadership is a place of influence and different relationships where I have always tried to encourage people to themselves as God sees them, and to achieve all, God, created them to achieve in this earth and eternity.
