Lamentations-Job: God’s Path Through Pain

Really enjoyed the class. I knew very little about Lamentations.

Good teaching

I was surprised to see Lamentations and Esther discussed together, but, as Dr Stuart had often done in other courses, he once again gives me a fresh perspective to look at these exilic writings in juxtaposition. I am particularly grateful for his succinct, crisp summaries of the rather involved dialogues between Job and his friends, to make me see the main thrusts and sense how the flow of thought and emotional tensions were going. Indeed, Dr Stuart's strength has always been in communicating accurately without being wordy. Definitely to be recommended.

The course helped me to understand the books of Lamentations and Job. Job is regarded as one of the hardest books in the Bible to understand, and the course has provided me a good overview on the book as well as deeper understanding on the problem of suffering in the world. Thank you very much!

Again another course that blew my mind. I am a mother who lost two children in horrorible ways. I need to know God is still with me. This course shows me God is still alive in my life.

I enjoyed the course, and even though it was kinda "depressing" with all the lamenting and stress, the story was Esther was a light in the darkness for me, my heart has always went out to Job, because he suffered so much tragedy, but I have also found it always "hopeful" that God restored him, and that he remained faithful even through all he was afflicted with. That showed he was True to God.

This course brings so much revelation to Gods people about His plan and purpose for our lives. As I’ve studied with intensity, I’ve learned more about the human heart and how gracious our LORD is. Great class!

I really enjoyed this particular course. I have always loved the book of Esther, but the book of Job was my favorite part. I feel like I gained the most insight from the study of Job.

Job can be hard to understand, especially when going through our own personal pain. Studying this again without angst currently in my life was helpful.

I could not stop this lecture study. As we went through the course it opened deeper understanding why Job suffered and why job was appointed by God to be challenged by Satan. But one beautiful understanding from Job is we will pure like gold...

Truly loved this. It really gave me great insights into these books of the Old Testament. Lamentations is not a normal go to book for me, but I learned so much about its structure and set up, it helped me appreciate its inclusion in the Scriptures. Job and Esther have always been favorites of mine, but I was able to learn so much, especially about Job through this course. Highly recommend it.

I learned so much regarding suffering through studying the Books of Esther, Lamentations and Job. Ironically, while studying these books I was able to give two of my friends Godly wisdom that were suffering and encouraged them to read the books. God is amazing!!!!!

Lots to cover in these books and the lecturer does a great job of summarizing. I got the flow of Job easily. This instructor has a great way of retelling a story. I get the feel and import very quickly.
