Lesson Overview
Communication is key in marriage, especially regarding finances. The underlying premise is that God’s intention is for married couples to handle money in a way that strengthens their relationship. Learn the importance of practicing listening skills, setting long-term goals, having a weekly “money date,” seeking advice from each other, and being an encouragement to your spouse.
Lesson Objectives
When you complete this lesson, you should be able to:
- Understand the significance of respectful listening in fostering understanding, cooperation, and problem-solving within a marriage.
- Embrace the practice of having a dedicated time each week to discuss finances, including praying together, reviewing financial transactions, and celebrating financial progress.
- Recognize the value of seeking counsel from one’s spouse in financial matters, fostering a sense of teamwork and involvement in decision-making.
- Understand the benefit of making “once and for all” decisions as a couple.
