My 20 year old son told me he loves Jesus and the Holy Spirit. When I asked him to elaborate, he began to tell me all religions lead to God. I was then able to share with him the road to salvation is narrow and only through Jesus can we reach our Heavenly Father. We had a very thoughtful discussion; ending with my son saying he would think about what I said. I’m still praying for his salvation.

Many times, defense of the faith comes in the area of giving. Many will not come to believe Jesus because they believe giving is doctrine taught by man and not God, even when you have the evidence of scripture. Then most will say that the bible was wrote by man and God had nothing to do with it. All that to say, that most times the best defense is being an example of Christ by how we live our lives and pray that God will have an encounter with an unbelieving soul as He did for us. Until then however, we have to be kind and gentle. This can be easier said than done.

Now that we have started to minister via social media, there are several people who ask complex questions pertaining to the validity of Christ, Christianity and religion altogether. It was hard for me to not get emotional or angry so instead, I remained quiet. I know arguing or “trying to prove a point” would only deepen the unbelief. I am hoping this course, and subsequent courses, will guide me on how to respond respectively and with Love.

I work as a Major Gifts Officer for Youth For Christ and recently received a financial donation from a non-Christian women’s group. Some of the members were upset that the monies were going to a faith based organization, so I had to go in front of the board. It was very maddening.

Once in response to me saying I did not want my children to attend public school to avoid indoctrination of “the worlds” views I was asked wasn’t I just indoctinerating them with religion. I was able to explain that I want them to have values and a solid foundation as a child of religion so they are better equipped to face troubles and make decisions on their own.
