Being a youth leader, this has come up many times especially from those youth who were visiting the first time and have never heard who Christ is or what the Bible. Describing to these youth who Christ is, what He has done and why Christian believe through faith who Christ is and in return teaching them what 1 Peter 3:15 means to them as well.

Early on in my salvation, I was feeling “brave” one Saturday morning and I decided to open the door to some Jehovah’s Witnesses. To say that I was unprepared was an understatement. They had me spun around so much that I was reading from “their” bible that wasn’t the same as our King James Bible. One of my problems was that I knew certain key Scriptures that I thought I could fight back with but I didn’t know where they were located at in the Bible. That interaction left me dazed and confused, and I felt like I lost that fight that day. And to add insult to injury, since I gave them my name and they already knew where I lived, they kept sending me Watchtower propaganda almost every week thereafter. Lesson learned.

Early in my Christian walk, I was asked why do I believe in God and how do you know he exist my answer was the Bible is how we know he exist and the nature all around us. But from my personal belief it’s because of his in dwelling Holy Spirit, and how he has radically redeemed, and changed my life and that’s why I believe.

Though I work in a Christian environment, I find that among my Christian colleagues, the need to encourage them in the Word is a constant. It is very easy to succumb to the way the world would have you respond to your struggles by complaining, gossiping, and being fearful. Explaining the reason I choose to follow Christ’s example is a daily privilege and encourage my colleagues to do the same.
