I remember when I was just a few months walking in my salvation experience when two Jehovah Witness knocked at my door. I answered and listened to what was being said but when they began to share their view of Jesus as being an angel like Michael, I felt compelled to speak what I knew in the scriptures to be true of Jesus my Savior. They left but the next day they returned but this time it was with a third person. I still held to my belief in who Jesus is, the only begotten Son of the Father full of grace and truth and Even now as I think back at the encounter, I’m encouraged in my faith to continue to holdfast looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of my faith.

I carry a bible with me at work. My co-workers have asked me why I carry it and why I believe that any part of it is true. Sadly, I missed an opportunity to faithfully answer that question. My response was along the lines of it is easier to believe then to not believe. No explanation, no defense. I never want to be in the position without the knowledge of how to respond and without prayerful direction of GOD.

I am a recently reborn Christian, I’m 55 years old and had turned my back to the lord for many years. As a result my children were not raised in the faith. I have never had to defend my faith, not yet anyway. But I have spent a considerable amount of time explaining to my daughters that I made a mistake in not raising them in the church. I have spent time explaining to them the faith and have been working to get them saved. At this point all I can do is tell people what I believe, and why (I was never very good at debate). There is the physical/archeological evidence that proves the bible to be a true account of events that occurred. And then there’s faith, the idea that a person knows in his or her heart that a thing is true without the benefit of any tangible evidence. And I am happy to say that this is where I’m at now. I know it’s all true, in my heart. I still love the archeology, but it isn’t necessary, faith and belief rules the day.

Yes, I had to defend my faith sometime. People ask you questions that you may somwtimes be able to defend your faith but there are some question that people ask you can’t answer .But I depend on the Holy spirit to give me the right answer to give them a better understanding and a better answer to the question.
