Yes, at my old employment patients would often talk about their beliefs and it was hard being younger and them being older and all “knowing” to defend my faith in Christ.

Yes, when I was new in the faith, I have to answer my parents / siblings as to why I believed in God. At that time, I do not know much, just that I felt peace in my heart. For many years, the word Apologetics frightens me. I flustered and don’t know what to say. But now, I felt I can better defense the faith I have compared to years ago.

I am a Pastor of a Baptist Church. I have partnered with a local rehab facility to welcome their clients to our worship services. One of them was a very knowledgeable Jehovah’s Witness. He asked why did we believe that Jesus was God/ And what proof did I have that Jesus was God? I explained a few select verses but realized I needed more learning

I have had this experience several times in my life. Shamefully, I have never successfully answered these questions to my satisfaction. I have much to learn about apologetics.

Yes… there are a few but one comes to mind of being disowned by my dad because I sided with God or believed that God didn’t believe in divorce. Even though my dad was still married and now had 20 years younger girlfriend whom he was seeing while married. The. He wanted a divorce. I didn’t agree with him in what he was doing. He said that God wouldn’t want him to stay in a marriage with no love. He just didn’t understand what love really is. And I was disowned twice actually by him over that because I didn’t side with his understanding but want God desires for him. Today, he has come to Jesus and we are now being reconciled. I forgave him. Jesus forgave him. And because Jesus forgave me… my dad owes me nothing. I just love to watch God reconcile my dad to God himself. He knows now today why I stood and I was the shy one growing up. Afraid of my dad. That’s Gods grace and mercy and goodness and power. Amen!!
