Being a full time pastor I’m always asked to explain the salvation of Jesus Christ and the reason of my belief in him.

This lesson truly hit home with me. I was raised in a Christian environment, both of my parents were ministers. And I, like a lot of preacher’s kids, couldn’t wait to leave home, so at my first opportunity, I was on my own. As our lesson said, we as children grow up believing what we were taught and yes, I believed there was a God and that Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead. We all learn that in Sunday school, we don’t pay too much attention to the pastor’s message for that day.
When I was younger, I was in training to become a Child’s Advocate, one who speaks for the child during court hearings. One of the scenarios in our mock court procedures course was the foster caring for a child by a homosexual couple.
If you believed this was okay, you were to go to one side of the room. If you believed differently, you were to go to the other side of the room. I found myself standing alone. I could hear remarks such as ignorance, stupidity, she doesn’t know any better.
I couldn’t defend my reasoning. I didn’t know what to say, besides God created man and woman to be married.
Today’s lesson has taught me the importance why we should be able to respond to questions and situations regarding our Christian faith. I thank God for this lesson.

A former coworker asked me once why did I smile so much. I shared with him that I was a believer in God and He gives me a peace that surpasses all understanding.

I can’t exactly remember. Some how I knew Jesus was real and that God our Father was real. That we needed to believe that Jesus died for our sins and that God provided a way of salvation through his son and like Abraham we must believe. We cannot please God with out faith. God said we should not turn our back on so great a salvation as this.

I talk about praying while at work and Thanking God for things he has done for me. People around just ask how i can believe in God.
