Lesson Overview
Young. Beautiful. Alluring. Mary Magdalene is commonly associated with such imagery. But how does the Bible actually characterize her? Examine the biblical account, along with truths about the cultural setting in which she lived to form a more accurate picture of who Mary Magdalene was and what we can learn from her and her relationship with Jesus.
Lesson Objectives
When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:
- Identify key details about Mary Magdalene’s life, including her likely social and economic status.
- Address claims that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute.
- Describe the importance of women like Mary Magdalene to Jesus’ ministry.
