The CIA Headquarters building has this inscription on its lobby wall:
And Ye Shall Know the Truth and the Truth Shall Make You Free—John 8:32.
You might also find it unlikely that this is the Agency motto.
Allen Dulles, the longest-serving Director of Central Intelligence, who was serving at the time of the building’s dedication, quoted this verse in his dedication ceremony speech. Dulles was the son of a Presbyterian minister and insisted on adding the inscription. The CIA Headquarters Building no longer functions as the CIA headquarters.
