In the book of Acts, we find a short intro that refers back to Luke’s Gospel:

In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
Acts 1:1-2 (ESV)

Luke contains some memorable passages that only appear in his Gospel. Below are several (navigating through them in the following window):

  • The Seventy Sent Out (Luke 10:1-12)
  • The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:29-37)
  • The Rich Fool (Luke 12:16-21)
  • The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32)
  1. After reviewing these passages reflect in your workbook how these passages offer unique insights into Jesus’ mission.
  1. Based on what you know of the book of Acts, how do these passages point to the kinds of activity we see in Jesus’ disciples after His resurrection and ascension?
