Acts
In Acts chapter 1, Jesus ascends into heaven and the rest of the book is the account of how his apostles took the good news to the world. You’ll hear a lot about Peter and James and a lot more about Paul.

Because of all that takes place, this book could be titled “Acts of the Holy Spirit.” We’re about to watch what happened in the first generation of the Church under the direction of the Holy Spirit: The Day of Pentecost, miraculous healings, the emergence of house churches, boldness in persecution. All of that contributes to the spread of the gospel throughout the Roman Empire, to the Jews first and then to the gentiles. Traveling through this book is like watching a fire that can’t be contained. And we’ll have the chance to see how that fire still burns today in every corner of the world.
