In a patriarchal society, women often had supporting roles in ministry. But the fact that most churches were at that time house churches would have given women a central role in these meetings and communities. Household dynamics would have been at the center of church dynamics. Church meetings and services would have been reliant on female leadership in a number of areas. Domestic roles would have become church roles for the women in Acts.
