After hearing the Old Testament understanding of the Kingdom of God, it makes sense that first-century Jews were expecting a political, military kingdom. But has the idea of the overlap of the ages started to make sense? There’s a lot of “already but not yet” in our lives. In fact, it seems that most of what we experience of God is more a taste of things to come than heaven on earth.

This lesson should help temper our expectations for what can happen on earth before Christ comes, but it should also excite our anticipation for what it will be like when God does create a new heaven and a new earth and everything we’ve been waiting for will be revealed.
