When we think of Jesus’ trial we’re likely to call to mind the pivotal scene where Pilate washes his hands, but there was a lot more going on, and there was more than just one trial. Between his time before the Sanhedrin, Herod and Pilate, Jesus endured three different trials in which he was mistreated and accused. To better understand the different political and religious dynamics that led to his death it may be helpful to see them outlined side by side.
