What does “Palm Sunday” mean to you? Maybe it’s a festive service that comes near the end of the serious season of Lent that anticipates the coming crucifixion. Maybe it is not a significant holy day for you. What we want to do in this lesson is to march with Jesus from Bethany to Bethpage to the Mount of Olives and down to the Temple courts. We want to understand what would give rise to such a public acclamation of him as Messiah. What prophecies were in their minds and what practices reinforced their expectations?
