It’s hard to have anything but admiration for Jesus when you see Him loving so freely. Of course, His indiscriminate love was a scandal in His day because His acts of compassion challenged long-held beliefs and social norms. 

This is good news to know the persistent love of Jesus, who ascribes worth to those the world sees as unworthy. Even in our human tendencies, to judge or marginalize those who are not like us, John reminds us that God’s Kingdom is much more diverse.

Humans have a tendency to find ways to keep people out, but Jesus consistently finds ways to draw us in.
